Latice Crawford, born and raised in Queens, New York, was destined for Gospel music. A storefront preacher's daughter, Crawford got her start singing in her cousin's choir. The New York landscape, where she often times gathered inspiration, allowed her to explore her creative capacities - writing, designing fashion and perfecting her signature sound. "I don't sing," Crawford once said about her talented vocals. "I testify to a beat!"
Judges of BET's hit series Sunday Best felt the same exact way. The spirited siren wowed the judges week after week with her gifts, successfully securing the number three spot in the series' final round during it's second season run.
Notable Gospel singer and producer Donald Lawrence described Crawford's powerhouse talent as "Latice's strength's are not only is she an amazing singer, but she has great depth to her."
Crawford may not have won first place, but she did win the heart of fellow finalist contestant Jeff Spain. The two met during the run of the series, fell in love and are currently engaged to be married. They will both star in CentricTV's newest love-story series Almost Married, premiering December 8, 2012.
Since her Sunday Best tenure, Crawford has been traveling non-stop, helping to build the Kingdom of God across the red, white and blue as well as Ghana, West Africa, where her husband to be is from.
