The second CD from multiple Stellar Award winner DeWayne Woods debuts #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart, the second highest Gospel album debut this week. Offering a mixture of comforting ballads, funky up-tempo tunes, and lively praise and worship songs, MY LIFE’S LYRIC is an album that The Associated Press says “doesn’t disappoint.” Woods, who is Director of Worship & Arts at Divine Faith Ministries International in Atlanta, says: “I’m extremely grateful and thankful to everyone who supported this CD. My prayer is that, through my music, people are able to see their own lives and gain a sense of strength, hope and faith. I’m really looking forward to getting out there and ministering the new body of work, which I hope will resonate with listeners who were with me on my first CD, as well as connect with new ones.” The current single, “Living on the Top,” is #11 on the R&R Gospel radio chart and was #1 most added this week. Woods was drawn to the song that was first made famous by Douglas Miller “because it speaks to what is being taught, even now, in churches about understanding our place in God and our positioning in the Kingdom.” Each track on MY LIFE’S LYRIC not only represents a different experience and a different aspect of Woods’ life, but most of all, each song expresses another trait of God’s awesome character. Producers on the CD include P.J. Morton, Aaron Lindsey, James Poyser and Daniel Weatherspoon.
